I was under the impression that the Gayatr...Really? I was under the impression that the Gayatri Mantra and Shanti Mantras came from the Vedas. <br /><br />However, it seems that the Guru chant is from Shakaracharya and "Asato Ma Sat Gamaya" is from the Upanishads.
