This training is a wonderful way to deepen your yoga practice and learn to teach Level I-II Hatha Yoga class. Instruction will cover teaching, ethics, injury prevention, philosophy, postures, breathing, kriyas (cleansing practices), mantra (sacred sounds) and meditation as well as diet, anatomy and physiology and prenatal yoga. We will also explore teaching styles and verbal and physical adjustments as well as yoga physiology (koshas, chakras, nadis and bandhas).

Students will learn how to incorporate the eight limbs of yoga into daily life. The goal is not to simply learn about yoga and how to teach it, but to become a yogi.

The training will take place Saturdays from October 2019 to April 2020 at Sweet Pea's Studio, 3717 N. Ravenswood Ave. There will be no classes in December, but students will be expected to complete homework exercises during that time.

Upon completing the requirements, students will receive a certificate from Satya Yoga that may be submitted or membership in the Yoga Alliance.
