Thursday Quote

In this life play I have not been in quest of Guru,
God, Truth, Grace, Salvation, nirvana, or power lust.

I had no ambition to be different from what I am.

Blessedly, I had escaped headucation, and was
free of any imposed knowledge. I had no property.

I did not marry. I did not belong to any cliques
or creed. I was not attracted to their magnetism.

I felt all is within our Self.

I had nothing to assert or resent.
Nor had I anything to boast about or regret.

I was fully contented.
I had joy in that which is.

"When your emotions are running wild and your breath is out of control, you attract disease and then the senses get very attached to the pleasures of the world. This causes the psychic channels to vibrate differently and block or prevent the Supreme Self from manifesting through the mind and the senses."

“If you practice spiritual discipline for some time in a solitary place, you will find that your mind has become strong, and then you can live in any place or society without being in the least affected by it. When the plant is tender, it should be hedged around. But when it has grown big, not even cows and goats can injure it. Spiritual practices in a solitary place are essential.”

"What causes fear? Ignorance of our own nature. Each of us is heir-apparent to the Emperor of emperors; we are of the substance of God Himself. Nay, according to Advaita, we are God Himself though we have forgotten our own nature in thinking of ourselves as little men."

"What is enquiry into the Truth? It is the firm conviction that the Self is real, and all, other than That, is unreal."

"We loosely talk of Self-realization, for lack of a better term. But how can one realize or make real that which alone is real? All we need to do is to give up our habit of regarding as real that which is unreal. All religious practices are meant solely to help us do this. When we stop regarding the unreal as real, then Reality alone will remain, and we will be That."
