“All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore love for love's sake, because it is the only law of life, just as you breathe to live.”
-Swami Vivekananda
Have been reading two good books (Breathing Room: Open Your Heart by Decluttering Your Home and The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up) which has prompted decluttering. Found a broken mala that should perhaps not be kept any more. You wouldn't happen to know, would you, what to do with a mala when it's time to say goodbye? Or is that an item that one is supposed to hold onto "for life" even if it's no longer in use? I can't quite bring myself to throw it in the trash.
ReplyDeleteNever mind...maybe I'll just get it restrung (Hopefully that's not a sign of being overly attached to it, but the big beads on it are nice to hold.). Sorry to have wasted your time!
