SMART PHONES AND YOGA: MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE?
The ringer may be off, but the phone's still on....
See in Class This Week:
-Student sending and receiving text messages
-Student checking football scores
-Teacher telling student such behavior is "distracting" and "frowned upon."
I'd love to comment on your post, but I'm in the middle of headstand and until it is hands free (niralamba shirshasana) I'll just have to wait...
ReplyDeletetoday an indian man had his phone next to him in savasana. his ring tone went off & he just let it go for about half a minute without shutting it off. i did not know the song. i laughed about it for 10 minutes & talked to others who were thinking the same thing as i.
ReplyDeletejust like india, right?
thing is-nothing is disturbing if you don't allow it to disturb. i have a good time doing pranayama in a small room where boxers work out. really. hane-helds are here to stay i'm afraid :-(
i'm trying to look at it as a challenge rather than react. i don't know what else to do.
bbb-really?
I hope that the retreat facility you selected has killer wi-fi.
ReplyDeleteOMG, comments 1 and 3 gave me a good laugh (when I really needed it).
ReplyDeleteI think it's my job as the teacher to urge students to disengage from their phones during class.
What's scary is when the teacher repeatedly checks *their* texts during class - which I've also seen (just not last week).
well since it's the members who rule, i can't say anything. so i just laugh.
ReplyDeleteYou're right; I keep forgetting that they're members, not students!
